This year’s YP Connect Keynote is Prathima Manohar, who is the Founder of the think do-tank on liveable cities “The Urban Vision” and is the co-Founder of the Urban Innovation Incubator, “Urban Venture Labs”. The keynote session is an opportunity for Young Planners to interact with one of the world’s thought leaders on issues facing global cities. Prathima will address how we can use an entrepreneurial approach to solving urban challenges, so be prepared to participate and test your ideas with other young problem solvers from around the country.
This session will bring you face to face with some of the leading voices in our industry. Learn from the best minds from the public, private, research and not-for-profit sectors who are forging change within our cities. Hear about how they have succeeded in their career and seek advice for how you can use your career to bring about positive change. Speakers will include Julie Bindon, Kurt Iveson, Jo Westh, Heather Nesbitt
Our industry influences the relationship between people and place. Yet, how do we know when we have done a good job? What is place and how do we measure it? In this session, Kylie Legge will conduct an interactive investigation into place experience, turning what we intuitively know about the environments that we interact with and turning these learnings into useable, comparable data.
This session will expose you to some of the younger movers and shakers from our industry. Be inspired by some of their projects and stories that will motivate you to think outside the box and challenge yourself in your day to day work. Speakers will include Brighid Sammon, Jessica Christiansen-Franks, Julia Suh, Matt Rogers
