Founded in 2014, Orange Sky provides free mobile laundry and shower services via custom built vehicles to those in need, whilst creating an inclusive environment through positive and genuine conversation.
Initially a crazy idea by best mates Lucas Patchett and Nicholas Marchesi, in a mission to improve hygiene standards, Orange Sky has stumbled across something much bigger and more significant – the power of conversation and connection.
Now expanding to almost every capital city across Australia, Orange Sky has over 700 volunteers, 14 laundry and shower vehicles and fosters more than 1300 hours of genuine conversation and connection every week.
PIA hopes to raise $25,000 for Orange Sky this year, an ambitious target but one that would go one that would go a long way to providing free showers, laundry services and above all, genuine conversation for people living roughall around Australia.
It cost’s $6 to wash and dry someone’s clothes, so reaching our target of $25,000 would mean providing over 4000 washes across Australia to those doing it tough!
You can help PIA reach our target by purchasing one or more Orange Sky t-shirts for $25 each. They’re 100% cotton and printed by Orange Sky’s ‘friends on the street’, so they’ll make you feel great inside and out! We’ve kicked off the fundraising with 20 T-shirt purchases, and you’ll see our staff members wearing them throughout Congress.
There are two ways you can purchase your own Orange Sky T-shirt:
- Pre-order your shirt online and pick it up at the OrangeSky/MacroPlan exhibition booth at Congress Thursday 4th and Friday 5th May, or have it sent to you direct (additional postage charge)
- Buy one at the booth on the spot!
Note: While there’ll be a range of stock available at the event, we recommend pre-ordering if you want a particular size or colour as we can’t guarantee your preference won’t run out.
We will also be holding a raffle at the MacroPlan Gala Dinner – stay tuned for more information regarding this.
